Artist Drop - James Flynn

James Flynn an artist that mostly focuses his time on fine art is the first of his kind to feature on ShylosWorld. He is a totally self taught artist that has been in circulation for a few years now, and this reflects in this work as it truly is something special. He offers a sketchy style to his work and mostly works in the colour schemes of back and white. The fact that through his fine art he focuses on portrait style designs means that he is able to show off his flair and perception in the human figure. This is shown through this choice of lighting and shading in the images. The use of unfinished sketch lines throughout the paintings really give it a raw feel and is one of the main factors that make this artist stand out from the crowd.

Starting off with the first painting from this artist is the image to the left hand side. The reason that this image stands out stands out in this portfolio is the depth that is seen in the skin tone and eyes. Even this the use of only black and white colors the lighting a shadows still pops out. This can also be seen down the side of the neck in the image as the lighting, (clearing coming from the right hand side) this adds a nice finish to the artwork and really demonstrates the time and effort that has gone into this piece.
Moving on through the portfolio, another image that really shouts out to the audience is this one. The profile angled view of the face is a tricky position to paint in as the lighting and the shadows of the features and hair line have to be shown through this. One factor that stands out through all this artists work is the attention to detail that is seen. Right down to the shadows that are created in the details on the fingers and hands...Impressive. The background texture that is used this these images is another thing that is a consistent factor seen throughout the work of James Flynn. It adds a classy atmosphere to the art work and fits in well with the sections of the art work that has been left to the audiences imagination.
Finishing of this sneak peak of James Flynn's portfolio is this face on portrait image. Keeping the same style as seen before in his artwork James has introduced color into this piece. The colour red is the chosen tone and i think it works brilliantly with the original tones and color scheme of the painting. Out of all the images that i have seen in this portfolio, this is the one that demonstrates the raw style of this artists at his best.
